Lu Feng
Last name: Lu Feng
Graduated from Wuhan University and received his Ph.D. in philosophy. He is now a professor and a Ph.D. supervisor of the Department of Philosophy at Tsinghua University. His research fields cover applied ethics, environmental philosophy, the phi-losophy of science and technology, and critique of modernity. He worked as a visiting scholar at Harvard University in the US, the University of St Andrews in the UK and Yonsei University in South Korea. He has published four books, including The Home of Human Beings: Philosophical Reflection on Contradictions of Modern Culture which won ‘The third prize of publications in social science’ by the government of Hunan Province. Over these years he has also published many important papers in academic journals. And his co-authored book An Introduction to Applied Ethics was awarded by Tsinghua University ‘The second prize of excellent textbooks’. He has finished several research projects, notably, “The critique of modern western values”. At the moment he is in charge of the project “Advanced study of ethics of science and technology.
