Kondratieff Waves:
Dimensions and Prospects at the Dawn of the 21st CenturyKondratieff Waves is a new international almanac that will be published in co-operation with the International N. Kondratieff Foundation and the Faculty of Global Processes of Lomonosov Moscow State University from 2012. The year when we plan to start the publication of the Almanac is not coincidental at all, as this is the year of his 120th anniversary, as well as the 90th anniversary of the publication of his Mirovoye khozyaistvo i ego conyunktury vo vremya i posle voiny [The World Economyand it's Conjunctures during and after the War] (Vologda, 1922), where he first spelled out the idea of long cycles, which later became known as Kondratieff cycles, or Kondratieff waves (or just K-waves).

Evolution:
Development within Big History, Evolutionary and World-System ParadigmsThe application of the evolutionary approach to the history of nature and society has remained one of the most effective ways to conceptualize and integrate our growing knowledge of the Universe, life, society and human thought. The present volume demonstrates this in a rather convincing way. This is the third issue of the Almanac series titled ‘Evolution’. The first volume came out with the sub-heading ‘Cosmic, Biological, and Social’, the second was entitled ‘Evolution: A Big History Perspective’.

Hierarchy and Power in the History of Civilizations
Cultural DimensionsThe relations of hierarchy and power are relevant for every sphere. The cultural sphere is not an exception, although, of course, it has great peculiarities in the manifestation of power-hierarchical relations. The relations here are usually informal and more often connected with traditions than with norms, there are much less power structures that have the legal right for coercion.
