Jean-Claude Muller is Emeritus Professor of Anthropology at the Univer-sity of Montréal, Canada. His main fields of interest are kinship, social and politi-cal structures, and religion. He received his Ph.D at the University of Rochester, U.S.A. Docteur ès Lettres Université de Paris, France. Among his publications are: Le roi bouc émissaire.
