George Modelski (1926 - 2014) was Professor Emeritus, Political Science, at the University of Washington, Seattle (USA). His most recent books are World Cities: –3000 to 2000 (2003), and Globalization as Evolutionary Process (co-editor, 2008). In 2012 he was awarded with the Bronze Kondratieff Medal by the International Kondratieff Foundation ‘for an outstanding contribution to the development of social sciences’.
