Institute for Research on World-Systems University of California-Riverside. PhD candidate in the Sociology Department at University of California, Riverside. Her research interests are sociological theory, world-systems analysis, formal modeling, ecological analysis, sociocultural evolution, and social network analysis. She is also a research associate at the Institute for Research on World-Systems at UCR helping to conduct several research projects. The research topics that she has been involved in are: the growth/decline phases of cities, states, and empires; globalization; global state formation; and the world-systems analysis on the Internet.
