PhD fellow at the University of Oslo’s Center for Multilingualism in Society across the Lifespan: a Center of Excellence financed by the Research Council of Norway. Nathan’s research interests especially include language policy and planning in the Nordic countries, indigenous language revitalisation, the folk linguistics of language policy, and ideologies and management of language within the globalization context. He also has a decade of experience as a senior policy advisor on immigration, refugee affairs, human smuggling, human trafficking, multiculturalism and adult literacy in the New Zealand and Australian governments. He holds a MA (Linguistics) from the University of New England (Australia) and a BA in Languages and Applied Linguistics from Griffith University (Australia).
